Trauma is a complex issue that affects individuals, families, communities, and the systems that serve them. The Trauma and Resilience Learning Cohort is an open-access online professional development opportunity for anyone who is committed to deepening their understanding of trauma-responsive care.

Unlike standalone webinars, this program is designed as a closed learning cohort. Participants enroll together, remain with the same group throughout the series, and commit to attending all sessions. This cohort model fosters meaningful relationships, shared learning, and ongoing dialogue while creating a psychologically safer environment for reflection, discussion, and professional growth.

Through a combination of evidence-informed content, facilitated discussion, practical tools, and reflective exercises, participants will build a strong foundation in trauma-responsive practice while learning alongside colleagues from diverse disciplines across the BSAS system. Each session builds upon the previous one, allowing participants to deepen their understanding and integrate new knowledge into their work over time.

What Participants Will Gain

Throughout the cohort, participants will:

·        Develop a comprehensive understanding of trauma, resilience, recovery, and their relationship to substance use.

·        Strengthen their ability to recognize and respond to the impact of trauma.

·        Learn practical strategies to create trauma-responsive services and environments.

·        Learn from the experiences and perspectives of fellow cohort members while building a professional learning community that extends beyond the training.

Cohort Commitment

To maximize learning and foster a strong community of practice, participants are expected to register for the full cohort and attend all five live online sessions.
