This training will provide participants with information regarding the importance of effective communication in resolving conflicts, addressing triggers, and creating an emotionally safe environment.  This training focuses on the identification of personal triggers, calming solutions, and the four-part non-violent communication process. This process includes making observations, addressing feelings, identifying needs and values, making requests, and empathic responding. Each part of this process will be explored, and participants will be encouraged to participate and provide case examples to guide their learning.

At the end of this program participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to identify personal triggers and calming strategies.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to distinguish between observations and evaluations.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to distinguish between self, thoughts, and feelings.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to make requests that support safety.
