Play is the great connector. Playfulness helps us connect-- with our children, as well as with the authentic versions of ourselves. There are many valid reasons, though, why play can feel extremely foreign, awkward, and frustrating for adults in recovery.
This training explores some of those potential barriers and urges us to think about play as the practice of being present and open. In this way, playfulness becomes a more accessible— like a muscle we can strengthen with practice. This training provides many applicable strategies for using play as a powerful tool for guiding children’s behavior and achieving meaningful connection.
