The THRIVE Community has recognized the Institute for Health and Recovery’s Access to Recovery (ATR) program in Lowell as its Outstanding Partner in Reentry at this year’s THRIVEsGiving event.
THRIVE presents this award annually to an organization that has invested time, energy, and resources in creating pathways that support people returning from incarceration. THRIVE’s mission is to empower communities to welcome and support neighbors transitioning from incarceration and to help overcome cycles of incarceration through community-based responses.
ATR supports people in early recovery from substance use disorders as they work toward their recovery and employment goals. The program provides resources to address barriers to employment, as well as recovery support and career services. It is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Addiction Services and operated by IHR and the Gavin Foundation in Lowell, Boston, Fall River, Worcester, and Springfield.
IHR is proud to see the outstanding Lowell ATR team (including Carol Blair, Patrice Scarlett, Eric Lozada, Karen Downs, and Kevin Lundy) honored for their work.
